Program Overview

The Indigenous Hospitality and Tourism Program is founded on the rich cultural heritage of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples. By integrating both theoretical and practical courses, the program aims to cultivate modern professionals in the hospitality, tourism, and culinary sectors. In response to market needs and current social trends, students undertake on-campus and off-campus internships to develop professional competencies and hands-on experience, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in future employment.

To deepen students’ understanding of Indigenous communities, traditional knowledge, and cultural identity, the program incorporates courses in Indigenous cultural studies. These courses not only support the preservation and transmission of Indigenous cultures, but also empower students to engage in community development and cultural revitalization. Through the acquisition of tourism and hospitality skills, students are equipped to become key contributors to the sustainable development and cultural renaissance of their home communities.

Emphasizing a strong balance between theory and practice, the program is dedicated to nurturing talent in leisure, tourism, hospitality management, and culinary arts. In addition to academic coursework, off-campus internships are arranged to ensure students gain practical experience essential for successful career development. Furthermore, the inclusion of Indigenous cultural learning courses fosters a deeper appreciation of traditional wisdom and strengthens students’ sense of mission and responsibility toward their communities. Ultimately, the program aspires to cultivate graduates who will play an active role in supporting community development and cultural regeneration.
